"Then where does the mind come in?"

"Mind is the point of conscious contact with the outer Mind of god. Mind is the focal point for the God outside the Entity to consciously contact the God-within.

The Love-rays working through the heart center function without a consciousness of Separateness. But as the Law of Love, of Giving, of Attraction, of building-up, proceeded to draw through from the Source outside matter more and more of the Ray-ingredients of Creation, as the outward expression in matter of the multiforms of different desires became more God-filled, so did the aspect of God which is conscious Mind find need for a weapon of expression within each whole.

The God-filled heart desired to control itself. The child desired to be like the Father. It desired a consciousness of separateness, it desired to think. Desire - Love or God - creates, so in the material body grew another point of contact with the Outer Source of all things, of all power, all Rays, all vibrations. The beginnings of the material brain grew to act as a vehicle for God-consciousness - or Mind.

The Law of Love is giving, is Attraction of like to like. So as the heart of the individual Entity desired this thing or that thing, so did it tune in with a like Ray or vibration, so was it building itself, all the time building. As need appeared in the life of the Entity more and more for self-preservation, for skill, for craft, for guile, for need for self-expression, so grew the mind; so grew the material weapon whereby Mind expresses itself, that is the brain. And as the Source of all Ray-vibrations is God-Mind, so is Mind as expressed in matter limited only by its own self, by its own desires. Desire to expand the mind opens the shutters of that mind to contact the outer God-mind."
