"Desire then is creative?"

"Desire of the heart is creative.

The heart is the center, the focal point, of the living, breathing, physical body. The functioning of the heart animates the body. The heart is the focal point of the God-power that animates the whole. God-power is Love. The heart, therefore is the physical counterpart of the center of Love within the whole. The heart is the weapon of God-power, the point of contact between body and God. The heart desires and the desire sets up and sends out a certain vibration according to the quality of the desire. Love desires, Love is desire; love is Attraction, Love attracts, like attracts like ... Attraction involves a tuning-in, a loving; tuning-in is followed by reception. The heart has created a channel wherewith to receive. The God-power within has become atune to the great God-power outside.

The result is inevitable.

The desired thing rushes in. By the tuning-in process of Magnetic Attraction the desired Ray-vibration joins the like Ray-vibration sent out from the Core to seek it.

'Take heed what ye pray for, for ye shall surely get it.'

We are seeking to clothe the inexpressible, the Mind of God, in words, so for our purpose we use the word 'vibration'.

All life, every minutest expression of life is vibrational. Each different-ness in life is a different-ness of vibration - of vibrational frequency or wave-length. Our tissues, muscles, nerves, fibres, veins, blood, bones, all physical things are - each separate cell of them - individual vibrations of the Light Rays issuing from the Light-mind of God. Our spiritual selves, the God-core of us is Ray-vibrational.

The physical vibration has a general framework of frequency; the spiritual or inner self has a finer general framework or frequency. All are within the immeasurable radius of the Ray-vibrational stream issuing from the Mind of God.

So that the giraffe in its need, in its Desire for a long neck with which to gain more food, by the working of the God-law set up within itself vibrations (or desire for growth) which drew towards them by Attraction those Ray-vibrations from the Mind of God which, when blended with that which he was urgently sending out, constituted growth of the neck tissues. Much as sunlight plus rainwater, added to certain minerals in the soil, produce a green shoot.

The giraffe desired a long neck. It felt the urgent need for it, it yearned towards it, it used Effort towards the getting of it. The bird-creatures desired wings; the amphibious animal desired legs and a breathing apparatus. The sweet pea desires support - it develops the faculty to find means of support. The ape desired to use its hands for food-gathering; it desired to walk - its legs grew to that need. The ape desired mores exact communication with its fellows, it desired to speak - the ape-man's vocal chords developed. The polar bear desired protective coloring; the leopard grew with spots liked flecked sunshine through trees. It desired them. It created them. 

The desire of the heart is the creative God within.
