I
am sitting in a shopping mall, waiting for my wife to finish
her shopping. Next to me is a rather pathetic-looking
fountain, which contains hundreds of coins, mostly thrown in
by children of irate shoppers.
I
look closer and I realize that most of the coins are only
pennies. The sum of money accumulated under the water probably
won’t even cover the cost of someone to pick them up.
Throwing
a coin in a fountain is, to many, a token gesture in return
for a wish. Are your wishes worth as little as a penny?
If
you value your wishes, then maybe you should throw in a larger
amount? After all, it has always been said that you place more
value on things that you pay for, than the things you get for
free. The trouble with this concept is that it is the wrong
way around. The things that you get for free should have a
much higher value placed on them, compared to things that you
pay for.
Having
a nice house, or a fast car, can give you a great deal of
pleasure. If you didn’t have your health, or you didn’t
have family and friends to share it all with, then you
probably wouldn’t enjoy it at all. Don’t get me wrong.
Money can buy happiness to a degree, but only short-term
happiness.
Most
poor people’s definition of success is measured in monetary
terms, whereas rich people define success in intangibles.
These intangibles are the key to being successful, and
enjoying it. Successful people value time spent with their
families, their own development, and many other things that
money can’t buy. Money may make a lot of these things
possible, but you must desire success not for material things,
but for the ability to make the most of what matters to you.
Memories
should be the most treasured possessions we have; yet most of
us want to overwrite them with empty wishes for the future. If
you really want to have something, or to be someone, make sure
that money couldn’t buy it once you get there. Without such
a desire based around your values, you are unlikely to attain
the success you wish for.
It
is no coincidence that you have to desire that which money
couldn’t buy. If you do not need money to buy it, it means
that it must be available to you NOW. Think hard for what you
wish for, and make sure that what you cannot touch comes
before what you can. Only by aligning your goals with your
inner values will the path to success open up for you. You are
the only person who knows what they want. The problem is that
the vast majority of the population on this earth haven’t
got a clue what they really desire. The majority of those that
do know what they want do not even bother to set themselves on
a path to achieve it. The remaining minority of this minority
are the successful people.
It’s
not good enough to choose to be successful; you have to decide
to never turn back. Then you must act. NOW!

The Child Within ~
|

Why should it be, that the most difficult person to love is yourself? And
why is it so difficult to see that this is the most important love of all?
The disciplines, the things that you need to be doing for yourself, are
expressions of self love. The things you avoid doing for yourself, and
worse yet the things you do that run counter to your own self interests, do
not help anyone else, and do not express the great love and respect I wish
you to feel toward yourself.
Show yourself respect at every turn, by acting in your own interest. Do the
things which will lead you to greater health, happiness and prosperity.
There is no conflict. There is no innate goodness in working against
yourself.
Today, spend time in loving yourself, consciously loving yourself and
approving of yourself.
Give yourself the care you need. Speak to yourself
in respectful, loving, forgiving and compassionate tones.
Have you made mistakes? Have you done things which now put you in a
difficult position? Have you even caused situations which make take you
months, even years to recover from?
All right then. Accept it. Accept yourself with all of your failings, with
love. Forgive yourself as you would forgive someone else that you loved
deeply. Be a loving friend to yourself. Forgive and then move on. Accept
that it may take some time to dig out from where you are. And then begin
digging. But not while pouring criticism and judgment upon yourself.
No, instead, pour love upon yourself. Understand that you are on a path, a
path of growing and becoming, and that where you are right now, how you find
yourself this very moment, even with the problems that you, yourself, have
caused, is exactly the right place to begin the next portion of your
journey, to take the next step toward becoming more yourself.
For the parts of yourself that you dislike are but shadows of the past, and
can be discarded as soon as you discard the notions which underlie them. As
you soon as you discard the picture of yourself that was painted there by
someone else, a family member perhaps, who made you feel that you were less
than we know you to be. A picture was painted that you have disliked, and
tried to hide, or hide behind. But it is not the true you. It is a shadow,
a negative shadow cast upon you by circumstances and other people, and then
adopted by you. But it is not true. It is not you.
The part of you which is true, is good, is light, is perfect in its wonder.
You know this, for it is the part who always tries to do well, who cares.
Who struggles, perhaps, but that struggle is with this other image, the
false image left over from a childhood, many, many years ago.
Let this old childhood image go. Let it go. Then go deep, deep inside and
find yourself. Find who you are. The wonderful creature who sparkles with
love and wonder, the little unhurt child who can gaze at a butterfly and be
filled with awe, the creature of love and joy who can be happy, fully and
deeply happy, just to be sitting outside for a moment, just to be. This is
the child we will bring forth and allow to grow in the next part of our
journey. Not the injured child, not the hurt child, not the angry and
frustrated child from your past. But the wondrous child you have deep
inside, who still wants to explore the world and be and become.
Find this child, deep inside. Bring her out. Let her see what the world is
like. Let her know that you are ready now to protect her, to respect her
and love her. Let her know that it is now safe to be. Safe to be this
vulnerable, this much a child, this full of joy and glory and awe. It is
safe because you are here, you, the strong adult who was missing earlier.
Love yourself. Love this gentle, vulnerable, child within. This wonder who
is you. Love her. Protect her. Pour praise upon her. Tell her how
beautiful she is. See again the vulnerable, open joy which is within you.
Let it shine out in your eyes.
Ah, yes. The world is a garden, a garden full of blooming flowers,
butterflies, singing birds. And you are again a child to see it all, and
glory in it. Be this child today.

I
have found that sometimes the subtle difference in our attitude,
which of course can make a major difference in our future, can
be as simple as the language we use. The difference in even how
you talk to yourself or others. Consciously making a decision to
quit, saying what you don't want and to start saying what you do
want. I call that faith. Believing the best, hoping for the best
and moving toward the best.
A
few examples could be, instead of saying, "What if somebody
doesn't respond?" you start saying, "What if they do
respond?" Instead of
saying, "What if someone says no?" You say, "What
if they say yes?" Instead of "What if they start and
quit?" say, "What if they start and stay?" or
"What if it doesn't work out?" You say, "What if
it does work out?" The
list goes on and on.
I
found that when you start thinking and saying what you really
want then your mind automatically shifts and pulls you in that
direction. And sometimes it can be that simple, just a little
twist in vocabulary that illustrates your attitude and
philosophy.
Our
language can also affect how others perform and behave around
us. A teenager says to a parent, "I need $10." And if
the parents learn to say, "No comprende. That kind of
language doesn't work here. We've got plenty of money, but
that's not how you get $10." Then you teach your teenager
how to ask, "How can I earn $10?"
That
is the magic of words. There is plenty of money here. There is
money for everybody, but you just have to learn the magic words
to get it. For everything you could possibly want. If you just
learn the philosophy. How could I earn $10? Because you can't go
to the soil and say, "Give me a harvest."
You know the soil smiles and says, "Who is this
clown that brings me his need and brings me no seed." And
if you said to the soil, "I've got this seed and if I
planted it, would you work while I sleep?" And the soil
says, "No problem. Give me the seed. Go to sleep and I'll
be working while you're sleeping."
If
you just understand these simple principles, teaching them to a
teenager (or an adult) is sometimes just a matter of language.
It's like an investment account instead of a savings account.
Simple language, but so important. It is easy to stumble through
almost a lifetime and not learn some of these simplicities.
Then you have to put up with all the lack and all the
challenges that don't work out simply from not reading the book,
not listening to the tape, not sitting in the class, not
studying your language and not being willing to search so you
can then find.
But
here is the great news. You can start this process anytime.
For me it was at age 25. At 25 I'm broke. Six years later
I'm a millionaire. Somebody says, "What kind of revolution,
what kind of change, what kind of thinking, what kind of magic
had to happen? Was it you?" And I say, "No. Any
person, any six years, 36 to 42, 50 to 56. Whatever six years;
whatever few years you go on an intensive, accelerated personal
development curve, learning curve, application curve, and
learning the disciplines.” Now,
it might not take the same amount of time, but I'm telling you
the same changes and the same rewards in some different fashion
are available for those who pay that six-year price.
And you might find that whether it's in the beginning to
help get you started, or in the middle to keep you on track,
that your language can have a great impact on your attitude,
actions and results.

~Healing
& Faith~
All healing is done through the power of the Spirit. The
healing of doctors and nurses as well as the healing of
spiritual healers.
In one form
or another the power of the Spirit is being used. It is the
power of the spirit that effects the joining together of
broken flesh and bones. It is the law of Attraction ... the
desire for cohesion which animates the cells, which animates
the heart, which animates the mind of the Entity. No doctor
could heal the man who was determined not to get better. Just
as the desire of the heart builds, so does it destroy.
Healing by
use of medicines is using the law of spiritual healing by
outward and visible means. Disease is lack of vibrational
balance. In the sick person it is necessary to restore the
vibrational balance of the body of the affected part. As all
life is vibrational, all chemicals, all herbs, all medical
appliances are vibrational too. Therefore a restoration to
balance can sometimes be affected by the application of two
plusses to two minuses, of positivity to negativity. it is
simply a matter of finding in the resources of the earth the
vibrational element that when added to the affected part,
restores vibrational balance.
It is not
wise to ignore or look down upon the healing of doctors. The
resources of the earth, chemical; mineral, vegetable and
animal, are the ingredients from which our bodies are made.
Health in our bodies means a proper balance of these
ingredients. Medical science can often supply exteriorly, as
it were the element needful for that restoration of balance.
Spiritual
healing is the application of the same law by different
machinery. It is the infusion by the principle of radiation of
the Love-rays of God.
God is all
Love. God is all good. Love is healing. Dis-ease is the
absence of Love (or Wisdom, or Balance).
Spiritual
healing infuses the perfect love vibration into the mind and
body.
This is where
the necessity for faith becomes obvious.
The man with
no faith is the man with a closed mind and body to the
Love-rays of God. He has not viaduct whereby the healing power
can flow in. The man without faith cannot be healed. The man
with perfect faith is wide open to the Love-rays of God. He is
open to healing power. A child or an animal is more receptive
to healing power than an adult whose niggling doubts and
parenthetical mental reservations keep closing the flood gates
across the viaduct of faith.
In the cases
of the doctor's patient and the patient who is to try to
receive healing through spiritual means, the all important
factor is of course the mind. The mind linked with the desire
of the heart controls the whole Entity. The desire of the
heart is the mainspring for the working of the Law of Love,
the Law of Attraction, of Like attracting Like. The mind is
the conscious instrument for the directing of that desire.
Faith is the channel which receives.
So in a case
of healing: First there must be the intense desire to be
whole. For instance, there must be no little psychological
hankerings after the delights of ease in a sickroom, and the
interest and sympathy and focal attention of friends. The
desire for absolute health must be whole-hearted. The mind
must take this desire and endorse it with conscious effort
towards the getting well. The faith viaduct must be open and
receptive.
