The Way of Healing and Light - Part VII
Development and Enlightenment

Continued from SpiritNews May 2001

The Divine Spark within a human being holds within itself  the primeval image of the development of this human being. The path of development is a long one and time is of no importance on the path. Time is only important in our physical dimension of time and space. Therefore we divide time into years, months and days and know the age of a person by the numbers of years that have passed since his birth. A person's life, however, is better judged by his good deeds and his development on the spiritual way than by the numbers of years in this lifespan. Therefore, on our path of development it is important to spend what we call time wisely, in spiritual studies and through caring for our environment. It is important to make good use of our years on the earthly plane by being in service to the Divine Light, and to follow our special path of development for the good of not only ourselves but for the whole planet - this is the path of the disciple.

An ongoing period of unpleasant experiences in our life is always an opportunity to cultivate insight, to learn from past mistakes and to realize which virtues we need to work on and where and how we have to change.

Many times this means a change in our life. Spiritual development causes changes on all levels for the serious disciple, and these changes, as difficult as they may seem at the beginning, will always make our life better in the end. They are in line with our personal path of development and with the Divine Plan and need to be accepted by the disciple. Many of these changes are tests  on the disciple's path of development. 

Life on this earthly plane is divided into birth, youth and adulthood, until fulfillment, which represents the end of this earthly lifespan, is attained. The life of a disciple of light consists the same stages, for him, however, 'fulfillment', which for most beings on the earthly plane means the transition into another world, has a different meaning. Death does not mean fulfillment. Whereas for most people it is during the last years of their lifespan that they exercise introspection which consequently grants them wisdom and knowledge, the disciple's whole life is colored by such introspection. Knowing that once his lifespan in this dimension is over, he is awaited in other dimensions to fulfill new tasks, the disciple knows that he has to prepare himself for these tasks already today by adhering to the path of development.

Therefore, the followers and disciples of the Divine Light constantly need to strive for development and improvement in all arrays of their life, and to be aware of what to do better at the present moment. This includes not only the things we should not do or do better, but also the things we should and need to do (a lot of obstacles on the path of development are created by deeds and actions we should have done or words we should have spoken and preferred not to).

The disciple has to live each day as if it could be his last, and his commitment to the path of development teaches him exactly that. The tests he encounters on his way are meant to show him the importance of the path. A follower on the way of light, constantly walking the path of development can experience a transition into the higher dimensions and enlightenment already in this lifespan.

Spiritual Adventures ~ Our Subconscious


It is a sunny and warm afternoon. You have plenty of time so you decide to take a walk in a nearby forest. On the narrow path you are following you pass meadows and fields until you reach a brook with fresh, crystal clear water.

You walk along the side of the brook until it disappears into the thicket of the forest. On the left side there is an entrance into the forest and you feel the sheltering and calming atmosphere of the forest. You decide to take this entrance into the forest. 

It's been a while since you have been here and you don't recall having seen this little hill straight ahead of you on one of your last visits here. As you come closer you see that it is an ant hill. Amazed and fascinated you stop to watch the seemingly confused crawling and running of these little brown ants. And the more you watch the more you notice how the chaos you saw at first unfolds into a harmonious and systematic group action right in front of your eyes. 

There are ants working on or improving their housing. Others bring in food, and yet others feed little white larvae. It seems as if each and every ant knows exactly what it is requested to do. There is no hesitancy or uncertainty. Everything within this huge cluster of ants takes place in a totally organized way.

Now you start thinking if this would be the same if you had a cluster of people instead of a cluster of ants. Or if you yourself would be able to organize such a team work as shown to you by these ants. You might be  thinking about the  fantastic and enormous consciousness these little being must have, and you recall that your school lessons about these little creatures, and you remember that they don't actually have a brain, only a simple nerve cord with a few nerve knots. 

On the other hand, here is this highly organized and perfectly functioning ant hill, which no doubt is based on a highly developed consciousness. If this consciousness cannot be find within the ant, then where is it.

You sit down next to the hill to think about this odd phenomenon, and as you think you enter a deep state of relaxation. Now you have reached the level where your subconscious lives. Your consciousness has opened your senses to a higher level of vibrations from which you are to able to connect to the energy vibrations of this ant hill.

It almost seems to you as if an energy thread reaches out of your subconscious through your solar plexus to the vibrating energy pool of this ant hill. From deep inside yourself you hear a low, yet clear and unmistakable voice, and you suddenly realize that you are in contact with a being that it at the same time part of the ant hill.

In the next minutes this being tells you that indeed it is part of the energy, frequencies and consciousness of all billions of ants, and that it is this being's controlling consciousness that the ants follow. It tells you that it is called the 'Deva of the ants'.

All this has totally baffled you to an extent that you return to from your subconscious alpha state with a pounding heart and slightly dizzy head. Your rational mind has difficulty accepting what you just heard and experienced, but then you remember having heard similar reports about 'Findhorn', the splendid Garden of Eden in the cold North of Scotland, beyond the 60th parallel where there is not much vegetation except some robust trees and grasses.

Also there, the people cultivating this wonderful garden talk with the Devas and the elementals of nature, and with their help a wonder of a garden developed which attracted spectators, scientists and sages alike from all over the world.

Now shift your thought to a person. He is right here, in front your you. And, like before with the ants, you send out an energy thread into the energy field of this person. The same thing happens: you get in contact with a being, and also this 'soul being' tells you similar things like the Deva you met before. It tells you that it possesses a very highly evolved consciousness, controlling and supervising  all of the 70 billions of cells of your body.

You are now in contact with your subconscious and ready to start your dialogue with your subconscious.

Let's be inspired - Our Weekly Inspiration

There is no darkness in reality. The darkness that we see at night-time is due to the limitation of the mind of man. The purpose of night and day, light and darkness, is to keep ever before man's mind in clear fact the difference between error and truth. Already the symbolism of light and darkness runs through men's speech. Pitch darkness shows as much lack of Balance as dazzling light. Neither condition denotes perfection of Balance. We have to remember that man is on a journey; that he is in the process of becoming; that he is still very far indeed from the goal.

             We have to remember that a measurable time ago man was not at all. That life on this planet was not at all. Then we must remember how the Mind of God gave birth, on this planet, to the spark of Himself within the single cell. And that conceived in the Mind of God was the spark should grow and develop until it is like fire to its parent, with the ability to draw from its Parent Source creative power; and with the power, like its Parent, to radiate creative light.

The perceptive abilities of a spark, or one little spot of light-ray, could only be very limited in a great field of light. So that man still sees darkness because of the limitations of his perceptive ability.

It is right that he sees darkness in this world with the senses of this world's material vibration. But if he only uses those material senses, he is in no position to aver that there is no other light but the material light of the sun. He sees no other light at present because of the limitation of his perception.
