*** Reflections on Living in
the Here And Now ***
In our book review, we have introduced
Eckhart Tolle's amazing book "The Power of Now". Indeed the
power we have is now - and only now. And the importance of learning to
live in the Here and Now cannot be emphasized enough.
Life apparently is a serious of
lessons, which we can understand only later, but have to take already
today in order to reach the "later". Until then what we need
is faith that the obstacles and difficulties of our daily lives will
make us mature and grow spiritually. It is the shadows of the Here and
Now that cast their gloom over our sunny skies.
It is precisely these shadows that make
us fear the new morning and the day when we have reached our goals. In
the darkness of the shadows all that we have suppressed becomes alive
and according to the law of cause and effect (also known as Karma)
every small step we make in the present could cast its shadows on the
future, making sure that one day we will have to face the
consequences.
So we muse for a little while how we
could live a life free of mistakes, what would be if we already knew
the contents of our life's lessons. Wouldn't it be easier if someone
or some power could tell us what to do to reach our goal? Are the
'mistakes' we make in the Here and Now supposed to happen? Can we not
be different? - A confusing rainbow of questions. The clouds in the
sky along with their shadows show us ways that seem to be predestined
for us to choose. But the more we look at the chosen way, the more
confused we get because more and more ways become visible. If there
are so many ways, how can we know the right one? Again we are flooded
with a sea of questions.
Finally the present gets our attention
again, waking our consciousness and asking: "What are you worried
about? Why are you wasting your energies? Are you so carefree that all
you have to deal with is tomorrow's tomorrow? You are like a traveler
to the Northern Pole asking all the time how to get there. And if
somebody told you that you are currently heading North but should head
South, would you head South?"
Your present requests all of your
attention Here and Now. Apply what you have already learned in your
daily life, avoid the mistakes you have already recognized as such,
and enjoy the flower of the presence when it presents itself. And even
if it lets you anticipate your tomorrow, you have to take the steps
yourself. Maybe the path would be shorter or less painful if you would
know your lessons already today, but would it be YOUR path or just the
idea of your path?
Your life wants to show you the
Northern Light with ALL its charms and when you follow, you can't miss
the right path. The knowledge of the infinity of life in the cosmos is
rooted is this very moment of your presence, of the Here and Now, and
grows into a gentle flower of hope that will accompany you on your
journey to tomorrow. If you succeed in becoming the flower of today,
you will reap the fruits of tomorrow.

**** Soulmates *****
The subject of soul mates is an
intriguing one for most of us. We are curious to know how we can meet
our soulmate, if maybe we already met our soulmate without even
realizing it, or why the relationship with a soulmate, especially if
it is of a romantic nature, can be difficult many times. Mostly, when
we think of soulmates, we refer to the romantic level, believing our
soulmate must be the person with who we can make a better and richer
life for ourselves.
While ultimately this is true, there
are almost always some stepping stones on our way, lessons we have to
learn, and exactly here our soulmate steps in. Before going into
detail regarding the soulmate as a life partner, it is important to
realize that we have soulmates in all arrays of life. Soulmates are
groups of souls that travel together throughout many life times.
These groups of souls incarnate
together again and again to help and support each other, and
ultimately to teach and learn from another. You can have soulmates in
all areas of your life: parents, friends, teachers, business
associates. Whenever you meet a member of your soul group, you will
notice the feeling that it seems you have known this person for a long
time even if you just met. Your ambitions and general outlook on life
will be the same. Many times you will share the same projects and
strive for the same goals, however, there are challenges in these
relationships too. After all, you came here to learn new lessons
Then, we meet a soulmate who has been a
partner in a previous lifetime. The moment the eyes of these people
meet, it happens: Week knees, a strong-heart beat, an inexpicable
attraction. Welcome to someone with whom you have shared at least one
previous lifetime in an intimate relationship. You both look different
in this lifetime, of course, but the eyes are the seat to the soul and
when your eyes meet, you REMEMBER each other. Without you consciously
remembering, your soul knows it all: the joy AND the pain. It is all
there instantaneously, at the very moment your eyes meet. And there is
also the desire to work it all out in this lifetime and be happy
together.
If you enter into an intimate
relationship with a former intimate soulmate, it is very important to
do so with an open and loving heart. These relationships can many
times be very painful, because you already know each other so well,
you know exactly which buttons to push to get a certain reaction from
your partner. It is very important to see that whatever pain a
soulmate causes you, it is done out of love. It is done to open your
eyes to pain, and thereby finally overcome your pain and hurt emotions
and understand that your partner is merely reflecting back to you what
is inside yourself.
You have heard about the law of cause
and effect (Karma). If someone willingly hurts you to teach you a
lesson, they load Karma on themselves. Only a soul that loves you and
wants the best for you would do something like that for you. This
should not be regarded as an excuse for somebody else to treat us
badly (still, on the grounds of the same law, the way others respect
or treat us is a reflection of our self-respect), it simply means that
only someone who is an intimate soulmate of ours will agree to take
upon themselves the task to hurt with the goal to ultimately purify
us. No soul that does not belong to our soul-group would want to
"dirty their hands" in this way.
In this regard, there is a certain
hierarchy when it comes to soul groups and the lessons the various
members of a soul group teach each other. We believe that all
soulmates all soul mates are karmic. We all meet again for the purpose
of clearing out old debts and to learn from one another and grow. But
there are different types of soulmates, according to the different
types of lessons. For example, You may have intellectual soulmates
with whom you have debates on mental issues. The intimate soulmate is
the one that will be there for you to clear the emotional
issues.
It has to be mentioned that soulmates,
and especially intimate soulmates, do feel a deep love and respect for
each other. Therefore, even if their relationship is difficult at
times, it is of such a nature that they support and nurture each other
in their ambitions, aspirations, and achievements on all levels,
mental, physical and emotional. This does not mean that they agree
100% on everything, they simply respect and accept each other
completely in the way both of them are. Basically, they do not feel
the need to change their partner and the emotional lessons which come
up in such relationships are for the sake of purification of emotions
only, and never for the sake of manipulation or control. Not
necessarily do intimate soulmates stay together in this
lifetime.
Even if we do not consciously remember
it, it happens many time that we agreed beforehand to meet again in
this life time to work out certain issues that will then help us to
lead a more fulfilling relationship with someone else, maybe even
someone knew who did not belong to our soul group before this
lifetime, someone new with whom we can share new lessons and
teachings. Or, it could be that after many relationships you are about
to meet another intimate soulmate, and all of a sudden we realize that
one (or more) of our previous soulmates has already prepared us for
this relationship, which is now much more harmonious that it would
have been had we met 20 years ago, prior to our learning our lessons
with the help of your other soulmates. Wouldn't we be grateful to
these other soulmates?
Separations from intimate soulmates are
usually very painful at the beginning, but after the necessary period
of mourning is over, previously intimate soulmates in most cases stay
real friends, helping and nurturing each other in true soul love.
Again these reflections on soulmates integration with our previous
reflections on living in the Here and Now - try not to anticipate why
something or someone is happening to you now and what this will mean
to your future, just LIVE it, and one day it will all fall into place

"As
the spark of life starts its immense journey through aeons of
time,
it is an individual thought, an individual Ray, an individual
vibration,
an individual breath of Spirit. To this individuality,
by
the Law of Love, it holds fast. All its functionings, all its
tuning-in
with the Rays, all its efforts, by reason of its make-up
are
individual. It becomes more and more individual, more and more
different.
Like a snowball, again, it rolls through life, making of
itself
more and more and more, and holding on to that which it has
picked
up on its way. That which it has picked up on its way becomes
incorporate
within the whole - which is itself.
As
the God Ray-vibrations, which are Spirit, are indestructable, so
is
the individual Entity which is an aggregate of those God-rays,
indestructable.
It holds within itself all that it ever has been.
That
which is permanent is the aggregate of Love-ray-vibration,
in
other words - Spirit substance.
But
vibrations are invisible to this world of matter. For all that
matter
knows they do not exist. Why? Because God, which is Love,
which
is Giving, in order to create out of His own substance
individuals
who are built up of His very Self-ingredients, who are
therefore
potentially miniature Gods as he is God ... in order to do
this
those individuals must (being of Him and like Him) by their own
Effort
and choice create themselves.
Potentially
Gods they must be creative.
Made
of God they cannot help
being
creative. Made of Spirit they must think, made of God-power
they
must be strong. Made individually, by choice must they build
themselves
into separate individuals.
How
achieve this, you ask?
By
Experience.
By
Trial and Error.
By
Learning Cause and Effect.
By
continued and continual Experience.
Experience
is using life to teach life. So by Experience the
individual
Entity learns, builds itself up.
As
we have seen that the indidvidual, being made of God-substance,
is
indestructable, and as we have seen that through continued experience
the
individual grows, therefore we can see why it is that the Entity has
taken
on this immense journey through a million forms of matter.
This
earth plane must serve its purpose in the grand scheme of things. It
is
a plane of Experience, a school, if you like. And guided by the
outside
Wisdom
of the Spirit so does the individual entity take on first one form
and
then another, and then another, growing in value as it learns, as it
strives,
as it turns this way and that in its struggle to live, to find
out
for itself first how best to remain alive, then later: how best to
live.
It lives a million lives perhaps. The journey is a long one.
The
individual has much to learn before it has created of itself a being
hat
can drive a car or compose a symphony.
It
is born, it lives, perhaps it opens itself to a fraction more God-ray
or
God-power in that life. Then it dies, as we say; or rather it is
ithdrawn
from matter for awhile. Then it is directed again into a new orm,
a
new body. It goes through the same process, - all through
experience,
through Effort ... And so on, again and again.
And
so up the scale of life."
