Well I was close to living out of my
car and I went to visit a friend and this dog had camped on their door
step. But my friends' house is so full of people and they already have a
dog which they are not suposed to have at their rented house. They felt
they could not feed this dog. I didn't take much notice during the first
day I visited but on the second day I found out the story and I looked at
Pete and he looked at me with these eyes which said would you please feed
me, pleasssseeee. I noticed his frame was bones and he was weak.
So instead of visiting I said 'get
in my car boy', not knowing how I was going to support a dog let alone
me...I helped him in the car and game him water and food. And this dog has
become such a friend of mine. He is like a human. He uses his paws like a
human and he just knows things. He has kept me warm and safe and comforts
me if he thinks I am in need of comfort.
This dog was abused and abandoned
and he knows what it is like to be in discomfort
so when he thinks you are he will do all he can to be of a comfort. He
kisses you and hugs you. I've never seen a dog which requires so much
affection and gives as much has he has to give. I am so glad I didn't
think of the expense or the responsibility of having a pet.
As the needs for money for dog food,
shots and tutoring as well as pet supplies came up - these needs
where met by God. As I help my pet God in turn has helped me help my pet.
I have always known that you help another in need and it is written and as
it has been said, that if help others you are helping yourself. Never
should anyone let a life go unfed or without a place to sleep or a drink
of water.
As we help the needy we are helping
ourselves. No one should walk away from someone if there is a way to be of
help. Or show some support, care, kindness or love. We are here in this
together and we will learn the importance of loving one another.
