A German preacher and theologian, Meister Eckhart (1260-1328) was one of the
most influential Christian figures of the Middle Ages, whose ideas and writings
- though officially condemned by the Catholic Church - were embraced by the
great Christian mystics.
Eckhart wrote about his own
experience of becoming one with God, and through his writings became one of the
world's greatest spiritual masters and exponents of the connection between the
individual soul and God.
