It is my humility which gives God His divinity, and here is
the proof:
It is God's
inherent nature to give. But God cannot give if there is no
one to receive his gifts. If, then, by my humility, I become
receptive to what God has to give, I make God a giver. And
since it has always been God's nature to give, I, by my
humility, give God what is already His.
A generous
man who wants to be a giver must first find a taker, since
without a taker he cannot be a giver ... So, if God is to
give, He must first find someone who will receive; and none
but the humble can receive the gift of God.
Therefore,
God's divine power of giving is quite dependent upon my
humility: without my humility God can give me nothing, nor can
I receive anything. That is why I, by my humility, give God
his divinity.
