I had a very distressing dream some time ago.
The dream was that my boss had committed suicide.
As disturbing as the emotions felt at the time of the dream and afterwards, it was also very strange since my boss is a sort of a 'fighter' person, so actually, while he certainly has problems like anyone else has, does not seem to be a person that will be so depressed as to kill himself.
I just felt I had to share this with someone, Thank you.
As distressing as any dream relating to 'death' can be, the first thing to bear in mind is that this is a symbol for an ending of some kind. Suicide in a dream is usually a sign that you are indeed under some kind of stress, and are comtemplating to end this stress by putting an end to the situation.
You did not mention in your dream what your relationship is with your boss, or if there are any conflict situations currently at your work place, however again you dreaming that your boss is committing suicide has to do more with you and your perception of your boss than with your boss itself.
Maybe there is a current situation at work whereby you believe that actually it could be your boss that will leave the company as a result, and this thought is posing some stress on you (therefore the stressful symbol of a suicide).
If possible, depending on your relationship with your boss, and if there indeed are some current insecurities at work (lay-offs or the like), you make seek a conversation on the issue, and you may be able to get some information that will put your mind at ease.
I invite our eSpiritCenter visitors & members to share their views and knowledge on your dream.
Apparently due to the stressful nature of the dream, I had completely forgotten that of course I was not supposed to take it 'literally', and assume that my boss would indeed commit suicide. You reminded me that it all metaphorical.
The strangest thing about this is that after I had the dream, my boss told me, in confidence, that he has been offered another job, but was relunctant to accept it. And yes, this is definitely related to the overall situation of the company, as you suggested, i.e. in a way my boss feels that he cannot contribute much in the current situation and is therefore comtemplating to leave.
So reading your interpretation of my dream, everything actually came true.
Therefore my next question: Can it really be that we have dreams about the future that come true?
I believe that it in our dreams we connect both with our subconscious and with our Higher Self. Both our subconsious and our Higher Self know much more than we do in our 'conscious' state. So this knowledge that you apparently did not have in your regular 'awakened' state, was actually there all the time, but it is usually easier for both the subconscious and the Higher Self energy bodies to communicate with us during our dream state.
