The Healing Power of Affirmations
Published at eSpiritCenter-Motivation
& Self-Help on September 12, 2003
The word 'affirmation' has its root in the Latin word 'firmus' which means 'solid, strong'. An affirmation is a confirmation, a substantiation, an assurance that a certain thought will materialize. Affirmations are like seeds representing certain themes in our life that we plant into our subconscious. When these seeds are correctly planted and nurtured, they will yield fruit.
Our thoughts are closely related to our ability to create and manifest positive affirmations. |
Joyful Prayer
Published at eSpiritCenter-Inspiration
on July 28, 2003
Moses once met a man lost in prayer, whose prayer sounded so absurd to Moses' ears that he felt compelled to stop and listen. The man was saying:
"Let me come closer to you, dear God, and I promise you that when you are dirty I will clean your body. When you have lice, I will remove them. I am also a good shoemaker, and I will make the best shoes for you. Nobody takes care of you, dear God..., I will take care of you. When you are sick, I will serve you and bring you medicine. And I am also a good cook". |
Staying In The Energy Of Love-Conscious Relationships

Relationships & Soul Mates
on July 20, 2003
At the beginning of a relationship, it is easy to love. You don't have to do much to receive love. Both of you give and receive, like in a wonderful dance. We believe that love should remain like that forever. In reality, love is a continuous state of being.
Love is not something that we have or don't have. Love is something that we do. Love is not something that comes to us, love is something that we give -or refuse to give- every moment of your life. Most people know moments of mercy, when their hearts simply open up and love flows. |

Spiritual Adventures - Your Life Tower
Published at eSpiritCenter-Inspiration on July

Imagine your present life taking place in a four-floor 'life tower'. You look out the window from the first floor of this tower and you can see certain parts of your life landscape unfolding in front of you. But your view is limited.
A little ahead in the distance you see a place in your life landscape that is causing you problems. Here, from the first floor you cannot see this place clearly. It is too far away and entangled. |

It is a sunny and warm afternoon. You have plenty of time so you decide to take a walk in a nearby forest. On the narrow path you are following you pass meadows and fields until you reach a brook with fresh, crystal clear water.
You walk along the side of the brook until it disappears into the thicket of the forest. On the left side there is an entrance into the forest and you feel the sheltering and calming atmosphere of the forest. You decide to take this entrance into the forest. |
Training The Imaginative Mind
Published at eSpiritCenter-General
Spirituality on July 18, 2003
Ask people what images come to their mind when they hear the word "happiness". The answers you will receive will differ substantially. Words remains empty, until 'imaginations' fill them with life.
When we were kids we all had very vivid imaginations, we experienced the most fantastic stories, some of them being quite 'irrational', and when we told our parents about it, they reacted by saying that 'these things don't exist' The imagination, the image we had experienced was taken away from us by intellectual grown-ups, whose logical mind dismissed our images and stories as nonsense. |
Ancient Wisdom - Living Together in Balance
Published at eSpiritCenter-General
Spirituality on July 18, 2003
In his mystical poems, the renowned Indian mystic philosopher KABIR (1440-1518) pondered on how a student of spirit has to act in practical daily matters.
-- Do not criticize --
One should not indulge in criticizing others. We should not deal with other people's mistakes, because by dwelling on them they are likely to enter our own state of mind. Wherever one person has to say something negative against the other, a negative atmosphere is bound to develop between these two (even if the criticism is not being voiced) |

1) Do not depend on others
As much as possible, have confidence in yourself and do not compare yourself to others. Try not to be in need of others' compliments to feel fulfilled. Do not mistake dependence for love. True love allows our loved ones to be free.

Relationships & Soul Mates

The subject of soul mates is an intriguing one for most of us. We are curious to know how we can meet our soul mate, if maybe we have already met our soul mate without even realizing it, or why the relationship with a soul mate, especially if it is of a romantic nature, can be difficult many times. Mostly, When we think of
soul mates, we refer to the romantic level, believing our soul mate must be the person with who we can make a better and richer life happen. While ultimately this is true, there are almost always some stepping stones on our way, lessons we have to learn, and exactly here our
soul mate steps in. |
My Child's Soul

Essays on June 28, 2003
Lea was tired. She had a long flight half around the world, which ended in a bus trip in an old bus that looked as if it would fall apart in a second. Her whole body hurt from the strains of the journey. Half dreaming, she barely noticed the beautiful wild landscapes... The bus stopped. Startled, Lea woke up. "Are we finally there", she asked herself. No, it was only a gas station. The driver got off the bus. She heard him cursing and yelling at the station attendant. Not knowing the language, Lea followed the
gestures, trying to imagine what they were talking about. |

Journeys Into The Light-Accompanying Souls on Their Journey Home
Published at eSpiritCenter-Journeys
Into The Light on June 28, 2003
When someone we love suddenly passes we all have to go through a natural state of shock and mourning. During this stage the soul that passed will still be very close to us, both physically (even though we can't see them) and emotionally. The person who passed feels our pain and wants to stay with us and comfort us. It is very important for us to help them to go into the light, and after they passed.
If you have a loved one who passed, try to be receptive for the messages you receive from them. |
Past Life Therapy & Healing
Published at eSpiritCenter-Past
Lives, Afterlife & Near Death on June 28, 2003
We are all intrigued by our past lives, wondering what and who we were in the past. For the evolution of our soul, however, it is really not important "who" we were in the sense of a person (e.g. were we someone famous), but in the sense of "who" we were as an essence. Therefore, the true questions to ask are "what have I accomplished in a past life", "where lies my connection in this life to my past lives", "what are the lessons I still have to learn, based on my past lives". |
Ancient
Wisdom - Stop Planning
Published at eSpiritCenter-General
Spirituality
on June 28, 2003
This article is inspired by Sufi Master Sikandari who lived in the 13th century and advises us that we should stop planning. This does not mean to blindly leave everything up to fate, but to be open for God's ways (or - in other words - to be open to life itself), rather than planning all the details out of fear that something might go wrong.
Whoever willingly follows the flow of life, will gain true peace of mind, and create everyday miracles in his life. |

Essays on June 16, 2003
This is a fictional essay based on a true story about a man, a crisis,
and a house filled with life's wisdoms.
"One day I found myself on the verge of a nervous breakdown. It was
not surprising. I was drowning in work, working for newspapers, writing
several books at the same time, and still, my income became more and
more insecure all the time. As a result, my physical well-being suffered
as well. And if that wasn't enough I also experienced a crisis in my
personal life. In a word: I thought my life was a total failure. |
